Untreated Laminate Flooring

Unfinished Engineered Wood Flooring floor boards are exactly what you would expect, the hardwood top has been joined to the softwood ply base creating the board as you expect to see it however the surface has been sanded down with no finish at all applied. As the raw hardwood top has had no treatment from lacquers or oils it will require a finishing prior to having any amount of foot traffic. Whilst it is more labour intensive to have your fitters finish the unfinished flooring or indeed finish it yourself you create a truly bespoke flooring, so you will be able to get the exact finish and look you desire. There is a vast range of Oils and Lacquers available so you will be sure to find one perfect for you. Another huge advantage of using engineered flooring is that because you apply the finish after the flooring is laid there will be protection in the joints of each plank, so if there are any spillages your wood underneath will protected. This is great if it’s being fitted in an area prone to spillages.

Laminate consists to about 90 per cent of wood, a natural material. That’s why it has such an eco-friendly profile and delivers both health and environmental benefits. The décor side is mostly made of high-quality paper impregnated with melamine resin. Laminate flooring thus predominantly comprises wood, a renewable raw material. KRONOTEX regularly invests in state-of-the-art production systems that are designed to recycle and reuse heat and scrap. Everything is produced without pesticides, chlororganic compounds, plasticisers or toxic heavy metals. Which is why KRONOTEX laminate floors have such an outstanding environmental footprint. As a result of their composition and manufacture, they are practically odourless and have extremely low emissions. Studies have shown, in fact, that the formaldehyde emissions of KRONOTEX laminate flooring is comparable to those of untreated wood and therefore well below the legal limits. Laminate flooring meets all expectations with regard to modern, personalised living.

This is partly because of the huge gamut of available designs and partly due to its functionality. Thanks to a practical click-together system, KRONOTEX laminate floors are easy for you to install yourself. We naturally also offer all of the required accessories, from skirting boards across impact sound insulation to cleaning aids. And so that you will continue to enjoy our floors for a very long time, they are robust, compression-proof, and strong. KRONOTEX laminate floors are abrasion-resistant, lightfast and stain-resistant. They are easy to clean by vacuuming or wiping with a slightly damp mop. The smooth, unbroken surfaces prevent allergy-provoking microorganisms from accumulating. What you get is a clean, hygienically flawless floor – thus making laminate especially suited for people with allergies. The core competence of KRONOTEX GmbH & Co.
