Northwest Corner of Ina and Shannon Call Susy @ 520 327-5900 Lots of quality furniture at great prices . . . some "outlet" and some "gently used". 510 posts, read 208,871 times 831 posts, read 1,083,880 times Originally Posted by jimdc58 It certainly feels that way. What is available somewhere between the junk (Big Lots, etc.), and the "out of my price range" stuff (Ethan Allen, etc.)?
Rv For Sale Brownsville Texas The major, "average person" furniture stores are Sam Levitz (the biggie in town), Ashley in Green Valley and Circus Furniture.
Pitbull Puppies For Sale In Port Charlotte Fl Levitz has some cheap junk, some higher end stuff and a lot in between.
Presa Canario Puppies For Sale In NcIt is primarily the big national brands made in China. They will typically deliver same or next day for anything in stock. I haven't been down to Ashley, but given that Ashley is generally OKish stuff made in China you can guess what you will find. Circus just looks cheap, to the point that I haven't bothered to go there.

Do any of the department stores (Sears, Penney's, etc.) sell furniture? I don't think Sears has much, but JC Penney's does. I had some bad experiences with them and the inability of their contracted repairman to fix my couch (2 couches and 5 service calls in under 2 years). Once again, this was national brand stuff, so I don't really blame Penney's. They have a separate furniture and home goods store just north of the Tucson mall. You might be able to order from your local store and have it delivered down here which would have its perks. Does anyone know anything about Baker's Furniture? Oak & More looks OK, there's also a decent place on Wetmore just east of the Tucson mall (same shopping center as the Wal Mart). Bassett looked nice, but a little spendy and a limited selection. I was last in there a couple of years ago. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I'd really prefer to spend money on new furniture rather than ship my old stuff across the country.

But I also don't want to find I can't get anything once I get there. There's La-Z-Boy which is expensive, but not what it used to be. There are a couple around town. Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn are at La Encantada if you like their stuff. You may also consider a trip up to Phoenix. I know American Furniture Warehouse opened up there in the last year or so. They are a large Colorado chain with everything from junk to above average furniture. There's also an Ikea and I am sure dozens of other places that will deliver to Tucson for a nominal fee. One thing to keep in mind, anything other than the stock material and you are looking at a 6+ week wait so you had either better like sitting on the floor or bring some items with you. There is another thread in the Tucson forum where we talk about furniture stores, if you haven't already searched I suggest you give that a try. 1,278 posts, read 1,095,043 times 3,954 posts, read 9,595,263 times there's also the very popular (in Phoenix) mid-range Room Store, but the closest to Tucson is in Casa Grande

They sell what I call "disposable furniture", which are pieces that look very nice but aren't built to last forever and are priced accordingly. (They're not dirt cheap, but not very pricey as far as furniture goes.) I'm not the type to spend $4000 or more on a sofa, nor do I have a desire to hand down my furniture. I enjoy completely redecorating every decade or so and like to buy new, rather than keep the same pieces and reupholster them, because I may have a sectional now, but want a sofa and loveseat (for example) later. While some do not agree with this philosophy it has worked well for us over the years, since we've moved several times; I never felt obligated to keep an expensive, traditional sofa in a new, ultra contemporary space, as each place we've moved to seems to have a different feel.

I would definitely consider them to be somewhere in between Big Lots and expensive furniture stores. I was in a Bassett store just once and walked out rather quickly, after noting their prices were more than I usually spend. If you visit their website, you can get an idea of how their prices run. I fully understand your "used furniture" concerns, JimDC . . . However, Home Style is anything but your typical "used furniture" joint. Upholstered furniture is available but definitely not to the extent of "gently used" (sadly, a "beaten to death" term) high-end, higher quality wood pieces such as bookcases, occasional pieces, dining room and bedroom furniture at great, not necessarily cheap prices. 435 posts, read 725,207 times I like Tres Amigos for wood furniture. Good quality and good prices. Lazy Boy and Bassett have similar pricing. I usually find less expensive items at Lazy Boy. Thomasville is also in that same price range. I went into Bakers and thought it was ok.
