The Kentucky Division of Waste Management’s Waste Tire Collection Program will operate in the counties of the Lake Cumberland and Lincoln Trail Area Development Districts this spring. That includes 11 counties served by PRIDE. PRIDE encourages citizens to take advantage of these events! Find your county on the list below. Some general guidelines are listed here, but you should call one of the people listed for your county for details. During a waste tire collection event, you can drop off your unwanted tires at a specific location within your county at no cost. The Energy and Environment Cabinet contracts for the removal and delivery of the recovered tires to “beneficial end use” markets where they are recycled to become products such as tire-derived fuel or crumb rubber.

The program, established in 1998, is part of the EEC’s ongoing effort to rid Kentucky’s landscape of waste tires.
