Can’t make it into the Best Buy Albany store? The City of Albany collects garbage from residential dwellings with four (4) units or less located on a single property. Excessive quantities of trash are subject to billing and a fine up to $625.00. White Goods YARDWASTE Yardwaste consisting of bundled branches, hedge trimmings and filled biodegradable paper yardwaste bags can also be placed curbside on your collection day. Debris must be manageable by one (1) person. Loading the debris into the collection vehicles should take laborers no more than four (4) trips between the debris piles and the vehicle.  Building debris should be placed curbside no more than two (2) times per month on your scheduled collection day.  All commercial, industrial, mixed-occupancy, multi-residential or institutional facilities must contract for PRIVATE trash and recycling collection. MULTI-RESIDENTIAL The owner, manager or superintendent of every multi-residential complex (more than (4) units) must provide, maintain and arrange for PRIVATE collection of trash and recyclable items (paper, newspaper, cardboard, glass, cans, and plastic containers, etc.) generated by residents of the complex.

In cases where a condominium, cooperative, homeowner or similar association exists, the association is responsible for provision and maintenance of the private collection of trash and recyclables.
