Vertical Blind Tilt Gear

Use Expedited Shipping to get it by Sep. 3Tilt My Blinds, which is currently on track to be successfully crowd funded on Kickstarter, offers a clever way to get in on the home automation action by letting you control your blinds’ ’tilt’ mechanism via a smartphone app, dedicated wall switch, or its own built-in light sensor. No longer will you need to get up, walk across the room and awkwardly reach for the cord to let in light in the morning or to shutter the blinds for privacy or to watch a movie. Instead, the process can be automated or controlled from the convenience of your smartphone. There’s an obvious accessibility advantage, too. Of course, automated blinds have been the stuff of home automation systems for years, but, like many of the newer breed of smart home products currently hitting the market, Tilt My Blinds prides itself on taking a small pieces, loosely joined approach, in the sense that its gizmo is designed to be retrofitted — in 15 minutes or less — to your existing venetian blinds

, not part of some expensive monolithic home automation system. Whether or not another disparate smart home product is a good thing will likely depend on how far down the line you are in your own smart home setup or how deep your pockets are. The Tilt claims to work with the most popular type of blinds in the world, those with a 2 inch slatted blind, and is designed to be fitted inside of your existing blind tray, so in theory the mechanism (i.e. motor) is nicely hidden. Power-wise, the device comes in two versions: One that uses a chargeable lithium battery, and another that operates off a solar panel, which is a very nice option. The thought of having to charge yet another device, fills me with dread. To control the tilt mechanism, you can use the bluetooth enabled iOS or Android app, including setting various schedules. Otherwise, wireless wall switches are also being offered. But, perhaps cleverest of all, the blinds have a light sensor so you can, optionally, automate the opening and closing based on external light.

If the Tilt My Blinds takes your fancy, there are a few early bird offers still open, starting from $60, including U.S. shipping. Age 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55-64 65 and older Gender Male Female Verified purchaser I needed blinds for the kitchen patio doors, these vertical blinds worked great. I watched a video on YouTube of how to install vertical blinds, it is easy as 1-2-3. The instructions in the package will not help at all. Besides that I am enjoying my purchase! Yes () No () Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser I bought two sets of these vertical blinds for two picture windows, 63 inches long or so and 63 inches wide or so... I cut them to size..VERTICALLY AND HORIZONTALLY...and they work well. There is a small screw on the rod that you unscrew and it takes the 'end' cap off.

I used a hack saw and cut the rod to fit the window. There is an iron 'rod' in the middle and I cut that also to fit. Didn't have to take it 'out' or anything. Just cut them first the white plastic rail and then the rod. If you want, ideally, the iron 'rod' in the middle fits back into the 'cap' that you screw on. I cut them to the window size so that i didn't have to put screws in the wood. They fit and stay. But that is probably an exception. You have your choice of two 'screws' and mountings. Pick the ones for inside or outside and save the others. They are both in the same package. Plastic clips just fit over the rod. You will figure it out. I cut the slats after i had them up. Used a measuring tape, but a good eye will do too. At first when i saw the plastic valance, i was worried but it looks NICE. I am a woman, and I did it. Cut them and put them up. Yes () No (6) Report Yes () No (6) Verified purchaser I'm giving these a four ⭐️ Because they had to be the hardest blinds to put up, not the blinds themselves but the top bar, took me forever to get it to clip on, but in the other hand that might be a good thing because they aren't coming down!

Once up they were to long but that wasn't a problem, I trimmed them, I didn't want them up any higher. I ordered white and they aren't a true white like my expensive slat window blinds they are more of a off white, more to the gray side rather than a pure white but after the struggle of getting that bar clipped they're staying on my window. Would I purchase again? Yes, they are good blinds for the price, if you have help putting them up I suppose it would be a lot easier than it was for this old lady lol. Of course it won't let me upload a photo!!! Yes (1) No (0) Report Yes (1) No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I ordered the blinds online for $29.00 and when I picked up they said they were on sale for $22.00 .

I was excited about that. looked good in the box .Then l seen why... When I took them out of the box they were so floppy and you can roll them up that's how thin they were but I was going to use them anyway and hung them and when I cut them to size they twisted and curled and they would not go back they're not good blinds . I couldn't take back after trimming them so lost $ 45.00 Not worth the money. These Blinds Are GARBAGE !
