2006 Arctic Cat 400 Class Diff erent riders have diff erent needs, which is why Arctic Cat makes a variety of their popular 400 class 4×4 ATVs. Riders who demand the only true fully independent rear suspension (FIS) can opt for a 400 4×4 with either the Duramatic automatic transmission with engine braking, or with a fi ve-speed, auto-clutch manual transmission with Hi-Lo range. Every 2006 FIS model is equipped with new slimline SpeedRacks featuring a contoured shape and new accessory attachment mounts that lower the height of the rack. The FIS models also receive a full-lock front diff erential (with a convenient handlebar-mounted lever), fl oating brake calipers, a redesigned hydraulic foot brake system with remote fl uid reservoir and a heavy-duty rear axle. A new digital instrument pod on the FIS machines has 14 digital indicators such as speed, odometer, dual trip meters, hour meter, clock, and fuel level that is enhanced with new bodywork that gives the 400-class the Cat Family look.

All of the Arctic Cat 400 class machines are powered by a torquey 376cc, air/oil-cooled four-stroke engine featuring a temperature-controlled fan and an Auto Electronic Choke system for simple “one touch” starting.
