It has worked well for me so far. If you are looking for the middle ground KYH you might want to look at the Dynamic mini blender. JB Prince carries them. I have been ordering from Prince for a good 15 years so they are a very reliable company. Any of the consumer stick blenders are weak compared to the commercial units. My favorite the most amazing old fashioned milk shake in 15 seconds!I have try other brands no comparison.by A perfect blend of power, ease of use, 25% longer drive shaft, and quality!I spent a lot of time reviewing and looking at immersion blenders before deciding to purchae this one.

I purchased the professional two speed Bamix Immersion Blender. I absolutely love it!! It is easy to use and easy to clean. It comes with 4 attachement blades: mincer, beater, whisk, and meat-mincer. I have used it to whip cream, make pudding, blend soups, make scrambled eggs, make smoothies, and a dessert. I would recommend this one to anyone looking to purchase an immersion blender. It has plenty of power at 200watts, and the attachements are easy to put on and take off. The drive shaft is 25% longer, so it is much easier to use in soup pots. Cleanup is simple, just run the metal drive shaft under water, and I like to fill a cup with water as well and turn it on, to make sure it is clean underneath. Read full reviewby Go for it! You won't be disapointed!I love immersion blenders. I cook a LOT and feed everyone around me in the neighborhood and at work. I have gone thru 3 or 4 over the years and heard about the Bamix. Not wanting to spend $100. or more to see if i really liked it, i bought a used one that is definitely an older (70's from the look and color brown and beige I would guess)model that had been taken care of.

It came with 3 different blades, a small chopper that i use to grate small amounts of cheese, a medium size container used for blending and a stand to hold the whole kit and kaboodle. It feels beefy, it has some weight to it. I would imagine that the newer ones are lighter but maybe not. The first time i used it it sounded like it wasn't doing much. It is quite quiet in compairson to some of the others i have owned. The way the blade is designed does a much better job at pureeing soups on either speed. The blade looks nothing like what is on other blenders, this one looks vicious. I have used the blending blade for salad dressings, marinades and to whip cream and it does an awesome job. The last blade looks like a milk shake blender blade. I have not found a use for it yet but i'm sure i will. Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase, I paid $49.00 and would definitely spend $100.00 or better for a new one. I like that it has a slow speed and high. Not everything needs to be pulverized.

I know that there are plenty of these that are in attics and basements, never taken out of their boxes. Hopefully they will find their way to e-bay and others can give them a try. Quiet, well engineered piece of equipment. If you love to cook and spend much of your free time in the kitchen,Go for It! You will not be disapointed. LolaRead full reviewby Solid workhorseMy main use for my immersion blender is a daily protein drink which includes some powders, coconut oil (in solid form), liquids and frozen berries. I think that any immersion blender would handle such a drink with little problem. My wife and I also use the blender for hot soups, sauces, and drinks using more frozen ingredients than my protein drink does (like a freeze). In three months time, this is our third immersion blender, and in both of the earlier units that we purchased, the plastic gears stripped out. The Bamix supposidly has metal gears, but they are not exposed, so I can only report as to what I've read.

The Bamix does seem to be better built and it gives the feel of a more substantial machine. It is less wattage than the Cuisinart blenders I had and it doesn't blend the coconut oil as well as the Cuisinart did, but the Cuisinart also was not able to make my drink smooth. Coconut oil is evidently difficult to blend and the drink ends up with small chunks (a little larger chunks with the Bamix). I gave this an excellent rating because it solved my problem, that is, the gears don't seem to strip. If I were only to use it for my protein drink, the Cuisinart would have been fine, even preferable. The first Cuisinart that I bought was remanufactured and emitted that electric motor smell when I first got it and ever after until its ultimate demise a month and a half later of a burned out motor (and stripped out gears). After it broke I noticed the mixer end was so tight that I could hardly turn it by hand. Perhaps that was the problem all along. The second Cusinart worked fine until my wife tried to mix something that included brown sugar where some of the sugar was almost rock-like in hardness.
