the last time i went in there, i found myself looking at the reptiles and i noticed a live rabbit in the python tank. a woman had her child there as well, and the child got upset. Blue Merle Cardigan Corgi Puppies For Salethe rabbit knew its fate. Bissell Carpet Cleaner Not Suctioningthe rabbit was shaking. Snow Tires For Dodge Caliberand the guy who worked there was watching as if it was a television show... to me, there is no need to feed live animals and do it during business hours. that rabbit suffered from fear and eventually being strangled to death. most people wouldnt be bothered by this, but i was. when i worked there, the conditions that animals were kept in, were far from acceptable. my eyes and nose burned.
i got fired from that job for standing my ground. i was asked to kill a mouse by slapping its neck on the table (apparently this was a training tactic for killing mice for people with snakes)... the person training me did it and threw the mouse in the trash. i refused and was fired as a result. with that said, id suggest going elsewhere. petsmart (over by home depot). do i have photos of any of this? but judging by other comments im reading, im not the only person thats had a bad expierence.ShareFlag04/19/2013Bought a Siamese Kitten for $3...Do your homework...avoid a broken heart.I bought a Siamese Kitten for $350 as a present for my son. I was told it was all checked out and in perfect health by a vet. Immediately, the kitten developed bloody stool. I was told by the owners that it was the new diet I was feeding him. I took the cat to my vet and after $500 of vet bills and blood testing, I was told it had Feline Leukemia and serious ear mites (which I was told was dirt at Pets Plus).
My vet informed me to have the cat put down immediately as there was no cure and the kitten was too sick. The owners of Pets Plus said it must have contracted the disease after it left the store. (Highly Unlikely in my opinion). The papers received with the kitten from Pets Plus had no vet name, signature and stated specifically tested NEGATIVE for FeLV. It is my opinion that all the cats are sick and all carry Feline Leukemia as it is highly contagious and deadly. Before buying, get in writing a guarantee of money back if sick and a licensed NY vet signed medical statement of health with the proper FeLV vaccine which Pets Plus NEVER administered. The animals are very abused, unkempt, and often very sick. Small animals are often injured, bleeding,or even left dead in thier cages. Birds are over croweded in cages filled w\droppings.Dogs are the Sadest story, they r jammed in cages barely big enough for a kitten. They r bought 1 at a time from puppymills w\the agreement that if they do not sell w\in 2wks.they get returned to the Mill to be used for yet more breeding stock&the store gets a younger replacement version.
The worst part is the abuse they suffer often left w\out water, rarely taken out of cage by anyone but customers, and is NEVER uncommon to find pups covered in feces which is often left ankle deep in thier cages.I have yet to see a pup that didnt appear sick w\ signs of kennel cough or worst. They r left to sleep on metal bars w\out beds\blankets,and never have toys or chew bones. The catss & kittens have no better fate! And if u ever get upstairs or in back rooms be warned u will be stepping over dead dogs,cats,reptiles,mice,bunnies...if they sell it u will find at least one dead on a floor or in a corner in thier "prrivate" employee only rooms. PLEASE speak out I know the people of lockport & beyond; know the horrers being committed at this store! w\out our help these people will not be stopped....How many more sweet "babies" will it take to be tourtured, abused&dead before these people are stopped? Please take action re=blog this, get it on face book, call everyone u know to read this & the other reviews ;we must help those who CANNot speak for themselves.
I beg u to boycott this store & start a chain of boycotting this insanenity from continuing. Thank You from every voiceless helpless scared & sick little critter suffering at thier hands as i write this very review.ShareFlag07/17/2012dishonest and dirtyyyyI went there and the tall guy in the reptile dept is a scum. He tried to get me to buy a canister filter he said was on sale for 55 and was normally 100 i did my reserch and it was not a sale price. I bought a heater from them and there were bugs infested inside. They r liers and i would not go to them again... Flag06/05/2012Provided by Citysearch - I can't say anything bad about Pet'sI can't say anything bad about Pet's Plus. It is where I bought my baby, Neill, who was the first pug I ever owned. I stop in there often to admire the puppies and kittens they have for sale.
I definitely see a Bengal kitten in my future. Aside from the pug, I have also bought fish, lizards, snakes, guinea pigs, hamsters, bunnies, and a Siamese cat. I have always been happy with my purchase. I have bought the best pets from Pet Plus! Some of the items can be purchased cheaper elsewhere, such as piddle pads, but they have a unique variety of animal greeting cards and cookies as well as medical supplies such as ear cleaning solutions. What separates Pets Plus from other pet stores is their service. When you buy a pet, you want it to be from someone you trust. And I absolutely trust Pet Plus.Flag05/30/2012Provided by Citysearch - I cant say enough about Pets Plus! TheI cant say enough about Pets Plus!
