She is ~7 years old, 14 inches, 31 pounds (needs to lose at least 7-8 pounds), and is now UTD. She has been treated for whipworms and a minor skin infection and has had a dental cleaning. Due to extreme matting, she had to be shaved. From her foster mom: Although she has been here just a short time, Ellie has settled right in to her foster home. She jumped up on the sofa within a few minutes of her arrival, so I suspect she has lived in a home environment before. She knows sit and shake, sits for her meals, and appears to be well housetrained. Her attitude is calm and friendly, and she will offer to shake paws or roll over for a belly rub. While she gets along with the other dogs and eats side-by-side with two other Shelties, she is very demanding of attention from her human and can be a little pushy about getting the first pat.

The resident cat did not interest her, other than a passing sniff. While the resident dogs are quick to bark, so far, I have not heard a bark, whine, or any other noise from Ellie. Because she is so quiet and well behaved, I have not had the occasion to crate her. She is 11 years old, 14 inches, 25 pounds (needs to lose a few), now UTD, HW/fecal negative. She has had a dental and is now spayed. She has cauliflower ears from previous chronic ear infections. An update from Sadie's foster mom: Sadie is one of the sweetest shelties I’ve ever met. She is quiet and reserved. She’s still getting acclimated to a new life in her foster home but coming out of her shell very nicely. Sadie gets along well with the resident dogs and has initiated play with them a few times. She likes to run into the back yard with the other dogs, tail up, and checking to see what the excitement is all about. It doesn’t appear that she plays with toys. Sadie loves to get attention from her human by being brushed or just sitting on the floor getting belly rubs and pets. She could be a single dog in your home and soak up all the love for herself but she would also like the company of other dogs. She will enjoy being your most loyal companion in quiet times and going for walks in the neighborhood.

Pup Pup, along with Rainey and Lily, are OR's due to family circumstances. He is the double merle offspring of Rainey and Lily. He can hear but is blind in one eye. Pup Pup is 11 months old, 15-16 inches, 26 pounds, now UTD and neutered, HW/fecal negative. An update from Pup Pup's foster mom: Pup Pup is house trained and mixes well with my 2 resident female dogs. He is very affectionate, loves to be with people and follows me around. He is a bit hand shy. He responds to "sit" and "down". Lily, along with Rainey and Pup Pup, are OR's due to family circumstances. Lily is a 5 year old mini-Aussie. She is 13-14 inches, 18.6 pounds (needs to lose a few), is now UTD and spayed, HW/fecal negative. From Lily's foster mom: Lilly is adorable and completely house trained. She is shy, reserved and a bit nervous around my dogs but is getting better each day. She likes to jump on and off the couch and follow humans in and out of the kitchen. Rainey is 6 years old, 17 inches, 39.8 pounds (needs to lose a few), is now UTD. He has had a dental and is now neutered, HW/fecal negative. An update from Rainey's foster mom: Rainey is a reserved boy, but he has begun to join the family in the evening. He mostly stays by, or on, our bed or the couch during the day. He gets along with our 3 dogs, but is mostly indifferent to them, not showing much interest in playing with them, or with toys, yet. He knows a few commands like sit and shake hands, and he comes when called. He's housetrained, goes out and comes in on command, rides well in the car, and walks well on a leash. He sleeps through the night with no problems. Rainey is an easy companion, and would be fine as a single or in a multi-dog house hold. Cody is an OR due to family circumstances. He is 14 years old, 16-17 inches, 41 pounds, UTD, neutered, HW/fecal negative. This boy's arrival in the program came with lots of tears - his mom, who was losing her home and could not take care of him in the setting where she was going, shed many of them.

She had adopted him from the shelter system 12 years before, and they had been through everything together. So on arrival in our clinic, the technicians, as they read the detailed notes his mom gave with him of his personality and his history, cried for him, and his mom. His mom trusts us to find Cody a happily ever after. We will certainly keep him safe and healthy and loved in foster care. That said, our most fervent hope, however unlikely we know it to be, is to find him a home, a real home, where he will be as loved as he was for the last 12 years. Cody is a gentle, loving soul with a lot more life left in him. If you are looking for a loyal companion, Cody is totally your guy. Jolie is a found stray. She is 3-4 years old, 14-15 inches, 26 pounds, fecal negative, HW+. Jolie will start heartworm treatment on 7/27 and will be available for adoption after her spay ~ 9/27. Trooper is from a local shelter. He is 2-3 years old, 12-13 inches, 15 pounds, now UTD, HW+. Trooper will begin heartworm treatment on 7/26 and will be neutered on completion of treatment ~ 9/27.
