Ddr Weight Loss Stories

I decided a few months ago to start trying to lose weight, and I figured I’d try and do it by playing Dance Dance Revolution. I’d heard of other success stories, and so I started playing regularly about 1 month ago. Since then, I’ve lost a bit of weight, but I decided to keep an online journal both for myself, and anyone else thinking of trying the “DDR Diet.â€? Keeping this journal should help me stay motivated, and could serve as a reference for others. I’m not sure how often I’ll be blogging, but I am currently trying to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. I’ll try to include a weigh-in so I can track how close I am to my weight goal. Anyway, feel free to browse around and use this site as a reference for your own Dance Dance Revolution Diet regimen. (Note: I’m no dietician, so before you decide to go through with any diet plan, be sure to consult with a real doctor or nutritionist.) You might also want to check out my personal blog.

The End of Dieting How Not To Die: Discover the foods scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease I hardly ever think of giving feedback on things I buy but this book is so good that I want to share the knowledge! There is information that you are not getting from the health authorities.Dr. Furhman favours a plant based diet because that is what all the studies show to be the optimum for us.

The diet has a 6 week starter set out. You can follow the diet he sets out or your own adaptation based on the knowledge in the book.I decided to follow it as set out. I have cooked the recipes he gives and stuck to his menus almost 100%. The recipes are delicious and very filling. Someone said the recipes were no good but I could not disagree more. Maybe that reviewer is used to a very unhealthy diet! I am a strict vegetarian (ie no animal products at all) so the fresh food, delicious vegetable soups and salads he prescribes suit me very well. You never feel hungry on this plan and the reason is that the food is bulky and very filling and is so nutritious that your body is not craving for any nutrients.I strongly recommend this book. Following his advice, I've already lost half a stone. A very informative and easily understood book.

Easy to follow, sound sensible advice. The recipes are borderline disgusting. Incomprehensible how one would not draw on the Asian cuisines that largely follow the nutrient recommendations anyway but do not sacrifice... I had heard about this book on line and thought it would be "just another diet book". Such a simple and clear way forwards to sort out our food addictions and health issues. very good and as described Books > Food & Drink > Diets & Healthy Eating > Weight Control Books > Health, Family & Lifestyle > Complementary Medicine I am the Author, and I want to comment on my book. I am the Publisher, and I want to comment on this book.Break down your weightloss success story. (self.fatlogic)submitted by Fellow weightloss lords, I thought it might be productive to reflect on and discuss our individual weightloss journeys. We all know the basic principles of CICO and identifying and busting fatlogic, but putting them in practice yourself can be tough and talking about those struggles might be helpful for others.

Mine is an atypical story but I wonder how common some of the psychology may be to some of y'all: Identifying my own fatlogic, of course. I have been overweight for 20 years, on the edge of obese at times. Half-hearted weightloss efforts failed, in main due to (wilful?) ignorance about CICO and deficits, and I spent a lot of time convincing myself that I was fine as I was - definitely some sabotage going on there. I was undoing my exercise by eating it back. This was through both "earned it" fatlogic and ignorance of how easily this is done. My fatlogic gem was "quantity doesn't matter if it's healthy food!" So step 1 was becoming dissatisfied with my size and owning that feeling, and my weight loss. Step 2 was learning about deficits and calorie targets (thank you MyFitnessPal). So then, I had to find a way to count calories that worked for me. But still, for me, a faff - looking things up and not being sure of exact numbers. I had my numbers but there was estimation going on, the scale wasn't changing..

Then, something dropped in my lap which changed everything for me. Meal replacement drinks offered me a simple way to simply measure my exact calorific intake while hitting 100% of my nutritional needs. I don't want to sound like an infomercial, but it really did work for me, for my brain. I was very motivated by the fact that I could easily and accurately count the calories. The uncertainty of "regular food" just got me down, and dissuaded me. But I found I could stick to this. It was also really nice in terms of time savings in food prep and stuff. There was one more profoundly significant effect: Changing my relationship with food. My allocated 2000 calories per day broke down into 3 shakes. I later discovered that 4, and then 5 per day work even better for me. I planned these, spread them out over the day (still do). I noticed a strange effect. All my life, I have eaten food. I have eaten when hungry. I have also eaten when tired. I have eaten when emotional. I don't really have those relationships with imbibing.

As time has gone on, I realised that they have shaken up (hoho) my mindset. I don't have the same attachements to go for them as a comfort, or as stimulation. A lifetime's emotional baggage. They are just fuel. That they are reasonably neutrally flavoured helps with not overindulging. My approach to calories out. Combatting the exercise fatlogic has required a strategy. I have also become aware that fitness trackers and MFP aren't that reliable when it comes to exercise calorie values, and tend to overestimate. My (quite extreme) solution is simply not counting calories out at all. I do still exercise (squash twice a week, cycling). I just dont count it. I stick to my 500 kcal deficit and exercise is just a plus. I do one of the things that you "aren't supposed to do" - weigh myself daily. For me, this has worked for a few reasons. It motivated me to keep going before I could see visual results. It gave me a graph (glorified version of the MFP one) which laid out my progress over time, motivating me to keep going.

It also drilled the point home that weight fluctuation on a day to day basis is normal and not to be offput by it. Cutting down on alcohol. My inhibitions go out the window after a few drinks, dietary too, so I have been avoiding / minimising my drinking, which has been effective so far. This doesn't present the whole picture, but it's the gist. I do still eat real food, and enjoy it. I know my calorie allowance, I have to estimate and do my damnedest to hit it. I eat out socially. I do chew gum to give my jaw exercise. The replacement drinks are certainly not the answer for everyone. But for me, it worked astonishingly, indescribably well. My self esteem is at an all-time high. I really tied my worth to my weight for a long time, much as I denied it. This isn't a good thing in my view. I want to be healthy and slim for it's own sake, and benefits. I needn't hate myself, but I needn't be too big either. This is my story. I'd love to hear yours. EDIT: Because I keep remembering more things to add.
