Ghost Glass Catfish For Sale

The most comprehensive selection of aquariums, decorations, freshwater fishes and plants on island. **check the videos posted to this Yelp business page to see examples of the fish purchased here. I am able to find rare and unusual fish tank decorations and freshwater species upstairs. To name a few, this is one of the few remaining pet shops to carry the black ghost knife, a variety of freshwater eels and puffer fish, as well as the royal pleco. The freshwater plants are maintained in a clean environment with CO2 and flowing water. Since there aren't any fish kept in those tanks, I can rest assured these can be introduced to my tank without an issue of fish disease hitching a ride. I recently purchased a school of glass catfish to accompany my other survivor from another pet shop. The staff was very patient and helpful throughout the week in helping me evolve my community tank to the next level. They shared a free aquascaping look book with me, and made specific recommendations on how to better plant my 20 gallon long.

Kalihi Pet Center's staff has continued to impress me with their care and attention to their pets. For those of you following my check in updates and tips, you are aware of the cricket shortage which hit the island as of three weeks ago. During this time, I have been visiting pet shops around the island and calling in advance for cricket supply to feed my tiger salamanders. Kalihi Pet Center is the first and only shop to call me back the moment crickets came in. They even presented me with the option of reserving crickets through the end of the day to make sure I would be able to get some.

Compared to other local pet shops, I have confidence in the freshwater fish at this particular store. There is a comprehensive assortment of reptile and amphibian terrarium and tank accessories. Only Petco rivals their stock. Two thumbs up for their top notch service for freshwater fish and plant selection. I sometimes get called a nut for doting on my fish as much as I do, so it is reassuring to have a local pet shop which will bounce ideas for how to indulge in my hobby.Petland's Kahala location has a comprehensive freshwater fish and plant selection. There are a few staff members who are particularly knowledgeable about aquascaping from first-hand experience and are passionate about their hobby. They will assist you in making the best informed decision for your tanks. The staff helped me transition from keeping a single beta fish four years ago to a freshwater community tank with a healthy balance of plants, drift wood and water treatments.I'm finally writing a review for Petland because their staff helped me put together a very specific 20 gallon set up for my community tank.

They were honest about pricing options in store vs on Amazon, and spoke from personal experience in setting up a similar tank. Specific fishes and items I've purchased from this location include:-- beta fish-- clown loaches-- yoyo loaches-- glass catfishes-- tetras; cardinal and neon -- Hikari specialty food-- Tetra fish flakes-- water treatment-- 20 gallon tank with Aquasafe filter, air pump, gravelTheir selection of freshwater aquarium tanks range in size and dimensions usually not found in other local pet shops. The Aquarium Masters brand is the one I would recommend checking out.Update: take a close look at the freshwater fish tanks before purchasing. While I've had mostly positive experiences, I did have a batch of neon tetras which did not survive. All other fish in that tank survived the ich infestation, however the neon tetras died within the week. Although the store has a 48 hour fish guarantee, it was beyond the two-day window and I did not bring it back for other fish. Frankly, the entire freshwater fish section has its ups and downs.

Review by a customer since the 90's -- Moanalua Pets has an impressive tropical fish selection with the most comprehensive selection of exotic fish on island. Currently, it might be the only carrying discus, exotic knives and other freshwater enthusiast favorites. , so I would opt to purchase locally through this shop if the item does not include Prime shipping. My search for a tiger salamander ended at Moanalua Pets where I purchased several firebelly newts as a child. I was ecstatic to find my pet of choice after calling around for several months. Actually, I didn't know Moanalua Pets was still open after all these decades, and was happy to revisit this nostalgic locations. Three employees assisted me during my visit and were very informative when I asked about pet care. They did not know proper care for their adult tiger salamander, however and were keeping it in an aquatic environment rather than a terrarium. As a result, I spent one day setting up a half aquarium set up more appropriate for newts (since I am used to caring for those), then the next overhauling it into a terrarium.

I wish that I knew about that beforehand and I would have set the tank up properly. I'll definitely return to Moanalua Pets to browse their exotic fish collection and perhaps to buy one of their long custom tanks. Uncle Bill's has a top notch selection of aquariums, freshwater fishes, and decorations. I was fortunate enough to visit Uncle Bill's as the last stop on my week long trip to Indianapolis. After searching high and low for the perfect gift to bring home to my pet salamanders, I found it on a whim at Bill's. The staff was extremely accommodating considering I dropped in a minute to closing on New Year's Day. All three took the time to talk to me about their aquarium declarations and the salamanders they sold here in Indiana. The tropical fish selection was healthy and alert. The store maintains a 300+ gallon community tank with clown knife fishes. Coincidentally, I saw frozen ones for sale at Asia Mart and found out that people here want to buy these beautiful fishes to eat!

The reptile selection had a few species I hadn't seen before. There were Chinese water lizards which were tiny and cute. The aquarium set ups had nice water flow and were thoughtfully designed. I learned that Uncle Bill's is a pet shop chain in the State of Indiana. If I were to ever move to this state, Uncle Bill's would be my go to spot for building a terrarium set up from start to finish. During my visit to Indianapolis, I visited the local pet shop out of curiosity and to possibly pick up a few accessories for my terrarium and aquarium back in Hawaii. The Reef Shop features a wide range of rare and exotic salt and fresh water fish. I saw a handful of species I haven't seen before in other pet shops and even major aquariums around the world. The tanks were clean and the fish looked healthy. If I lived in Indianapolis, I would definitely come to The Reef often to stock up on fish and to get inspiration for my next tank upgrade. The prices for the tanks and accessories are cheaper than most found online through Amazon Prime and other vendors.

There is a decent selection of tank accessories if you are looking to add flare to your tank. Say 'hi' to Gilbert the bumblebee grouper during your next visit. He is quite the charmer. Newport Aquarium was well worth the trek across state borders to visit. I was thrilled to hear that one of the largest aquariums in the country was less than a two hour drive away. The aquarium features extensive reptile and frog exhibits. My favorite section was the many different types of alligators and crocodiles. The baby crocodiles were beautiful and easy to observe in their tanks. The tropical fish section incorporated plants and decor native to their native environments. Since tropical fish have become so common in local pet shops, it is easy to take for granted what these fishes native environments are. Newport did a fantastic job bringing them back to their element. The tank full of sawfish was also quite impressive. There were literally more than a hundred saw fish cruising back and forth for their next meal to drop in.
