I'd like more people to know how to save some money by doing a conversion. All you need are three items: the 220/240 V armature (spinning part of the motor), the 220/240V field (stationary part of the motor) and a new phase control board (for the 60Hz to 50Hz). However, this will only work with certain mixers listed in the links provided below. I used Goodmans to source the parts and the manual to change everything out! You can change the plug as well but I just used a standard US to UK plug adapter. As well, EU regs require an RFI filter - I figured I would just not include that part. Works fine despite not necessarily being compliant. I would've expected the issue to have been the frequency of the signal (50Hz vs. 60Hz) causing the slower speed, as that's something that transformers will not fix ... but it seems someone's already asked the manufacturer, and they claim it's the voltage: If it were me, I'd try to find out if it's posible to swap out the motor with a European one, so I didn't have to replace my mixer (and store one that I couldn't use while I was on travel) ... especially considering the warrenty's already been voided.

They might not like you doing that, as there's a mention on that same page that there are differences in 'safety features' between the American & European models (but they never say what the differences are). For power output of a UPS, figure watts are 60% of VA rating, thus you have a 300 watt UPS trying to power a 325 watt piece of equipment. Does this unit convert 50 Hz to 60 Hz? If not, speed will be reduced accordingly. Sounds to me like too much load for your power supply. Is the problem is frequency, 50hz vs 60hz? those frequency converters are really inefficient.
