Our Featured Oklahoma City, OK Partner: Heartland Lab Rescue, Inc. Heartland Lab Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving forever homes for Labrador retrievers that have been neglected, abused or are just unwanted. Our volunteer base is in Oklahoma City, but serve Labrador rescue needs throughout the State of Oklahoma and surrounding areas. While in our care, dogs are treated as though they are our own, getting all of the necessary attention both from a family as well as medically. All dogs are spayed or neutered and placed in a foster home as soon as possible to evaluate the dogs temperament as well as what type of home the dog would best be suited for.Our adoption fees barely cover our expenses and we are involved in a continuous fundraising drive, if you can help out by donating your time or money, let us know we would love for you to join us and the Labs would too! With the overwhelming popularity of the Labrador retriever breed, it is no surprise that there are more labs to rescue than most other breeds.

Heartland Lab Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization based in Oklahoma City. Each week there are wonderful Labs we are not able to save, please help us out and volunteer, adopt or donate today! One of the most important components of rescuing these wonderful dogs is our foster homes. We are often not able to save dogs simply because we do not have a foster home to put them in until their forever home is found. Foster families are provided with food, all necessary medical care and a crate. You can offer your home to foster a dog all year long or as your schedule allows. It is also a great way for children in a family to be a part of volunteering and giving back to the community."There is tremendous reward knowing you have helped match a dog and an adopter, and in doing so, you've had a profound effect on both lives. Neither will ever be the same again." -Kathy McGeever in the July/August Just Labs magazine. If you would like more information about fostering please contact us or fill out an application right now.

To adopt a dog, you wil need to fill out application via our website. Once you have been approved we then get you in touch with the foster families of dogs you are interested in. We will work with you until you and the dog find best fit! We do have an adoption fee, please visit our website for our fees. Heartland Lab Rescue pays for all spay and neutering costs by our HLR vets, dogs are up to date on all vaccinations as well as flea and tick medication and heartworm preventative. The fees barely cover the costs incurred by dogs in our program. In addition to this you are also helping to save the lives of very deserving Labradors. Each day there are labs that we have to pass up because we do not have the resources in funding or foster homes to put them in. All dogs are currently in a foster home where they are learning good doggie manners including housetraining!Up-and-coming malesThe Lavish Winston Churchill of Silvermist Winston has already made himself at home, winning us all over with his quiet nature and puppy snuggles.

We've never had a puppy as calm and loving as Winston! He's very smart and well-behaved, especially for a Labrador who's still a puppy. Winston also has a phenomenal pedigree and is the grandson of not one, but TWO legendary champions - ACK GCH CH Endless Mt's Scotland Yard and CH Simerdown's Dr Pepper!

He has this tradition of excellence by earning both his AKC Beginner Novice and AKC Rally Novice titles by age two.He is a favorite of the girls, who call him Dukie, much to my husband's frustration. Duke is light yellow, but he is actually a dilute yellow known as champagne. What this means as a sire is that he will produce silver, charcoal, and champagne puppies when bred with a dilute female. Duke has never met a snack he didn't gobble down! Despite all that he eats, he manages to stay slim and trim and he never gets tired when it's time to play fetch! $200, Registered Male Chihuahua ACA registered Cockapoo Puppies Needing A Good Home $2,200, AKC French Bulldog LABRADORS, is a registered kennel with the AKC, as well as being recognized as a Breeder Of Merit.
