Email this to a friend When importing a DXF file, LinkCAD may report that it contains open polygons. However, when you switch to the Viewer, you don't see any open polygon.

It's a recurrent problem with DXF files: these files sometimes contain cells (DXF BLOCKS) that have been created and included in the drawing at one point, and later the instance has been deleted. Even though the cell instance has been deleted, the cell still exists (it's just not visible in the drawing). If you look at LinkCAD's File Structure dialog you'll see one or more cells starting with "A$............". If you make such a cell visible by clicking on its cell icon (to the left of the light bulb), and switch to the viewer, you'll see the open polygons (toggle the open polygons display a few times to locate them).LinkCAD does not export such "orphan" cells, unless you enable them manually. So maybe we should not count open polygons inside them, or at least count them separately. To avoid including orphan cells in DXF files, use the PURGE command in AutoCAD prior to saving the DXF file. Files converted to or from DXF are oversized or too small Powered by ActiveKB Knowledge base Software
