This 8-year-old was very depressed in the shelter, wouldn't eat, and repeatedly got sick. Months of medical treatment in the shelter just wouldn't get her better. Dear Dog Park Members, Now that the weather is breaking and we finally have some warm weather to enjoy, traffic at the Doylestown Dog Park has begun to increase. As a result, we would like to take this time to remind members of a few of the Dog Park rules. — YOUR key fob must be used to enter the park. Members are not allowed to fob in another member nor open the gate to provide access. Please remember, only registered individuals who have attended orientation are allowed to bring registered dogs inside the park. — Entry through the EXIT gate is NOT permitted. Please adhere to all posted signs at the gates. — The pavilion is an on-leash area. Dogs must be on-leash at all times within the whole of Turk Park, except while in the off-leash areas. — Remember the entry gate is a hot spot. Owners must move their dogs away from the entry gate when dogs are in the vestibule area waiting to enter the off leash area. — Do not bring sick dogs to the park, or dogs who have been sick, until fully recovered.

— Only members with a handicap placard or license plate may drive up the maintenance road and park adjacent to the park. — Owners must clean up after their dogs. For convenience, bags and waste receptacles are provided at the park. Dog Park rules are in place for the safety and well-being of both dogs and owners. By attending orientation and completing the registration process for dog park membership, you have committed to following the rules. Thank you to those members who adhere to the rules of the dog park. We are grateful to you for helping us to ensure the safety and security of all owners and dogs. April 14, 2015 by doylestowndogpark Doylestown Township Parks and Recreation and Hilltown Dog Club Lure Coursing have once again teamed up to offer Lure Coursing at Turk Park III (Almshouse Rd. adjacent to the dog park). Lure coursing is a fast-paced, fun chase sport for your canine friends.

Dogs chase the lure (“bunny”), a white plastic bag that is attached to a line that is mechanized and controlled by a lure operator. The machine runs the line at a speed determined by the lure operator (and the dog). The run area will be enclosed by a temporary fence. All non-aggressive dogs, big or small are welcome…Come on out and give it a try! When: April 18th & 19th (pre-registration is not required) Where: Turk Park III (1260 Almshouse Rd., Warrington, PA 18976) just outside of the dog park Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Cost: $8 – one run, $15 – two runs, $20 – three runs — All dogs MUST warm up prior to running. This means a nice long walk while you’re waiting for your turn. — Dogs MUST cool down between runs. This means walking them immediately following a run and waiting at least 20 minutes between runs. — Please cut your dog’s nails two days before running. Long nails can cause injuries. — Please clean up after your dog, if you are caught not cleaning up, you will be asked to leave.

— Please bring plenty of water for your dogs; we do not want any thirsty runners. — Hold onto your dog when other dogs are running. November 11, 2014 by doylestowndogpark The VIP Barking Spot is back! Tickets for the raffle are $10 each (with money raised going to the park). You can purchase them at Doylestown Township, Doylestown Borough and from DP Advisory Board members. We have one Small Dog Barking Spot and one Large Dog Barking Spot. The drawing will be held at the first Township Board of Supervisors Meeting on January 6th, 2015.

The Barking Spot is located beside the walkway to the park, opposite of the designated handicapped parking area.
