Pitbull Pups For Sale In Toronto

Neema Jansen and Nick Wooldridge were heartbroken and desperate. Their beloved dog Asia had died Sunday, just three days after giving birth to a litter of puppies.Wooldridge asked his boss at Sklar Furnishings whether he could run home from work each day to feed them. Co-owner Pat Howard had a better idea. "Bring them here," she said. That's how employees of a home furnishing business in Boca Raton ended up caring for seven 1-week-old blue nose pitbull puppies. Every four hours, they take turns feeding bottled formula to the puppies, each no bigger than a hand, sporting white spots or stripes on black fur. Wooldridge then takes care of their other, more messy puppy needs, and they're put back in their pen to sleep in the warehouse. Some workers take the puppies home at night to do the two nightly feedings. Jansen, an office worker who has been with Sklar almost a year, said her employer's generosity did not surprise her. "There isn't anything she doesn't do for us," she said."
[Howard] knew it would be quite an experience for everyone," added Wooldridge, who has worked in Sklar's warehouse for three years.Sklar's owners, Pat and Nick Howard, are known for their flexibility when it comes to employees. Several attend school, working at Sklar around their school hours."One of the things most important to Nick and I are kindness," Howard said. Sklar has a monthly award for employees who do a kind act in the workplace. Employees submit nominations to a box. Often, they're simple things, such as bringing food to work or buying another employee lunch, she said. Originally from Toronto, the Howards retired to the Keys more than a decade ago. But they got bored with golfing and other retirement activities. Pat Howard formerly worked as a nurse, and her husband owned a furniture company in Canada.Thirteen years later, Sklar employs 36 people including interior designers, office workers and warehouse workers. At noon Wednesday, one employee after another trooped into the warehouse as word spread that it was time to feed the puppies."
This is so fun," said Sonia Longchamp, interior design director for Sklar. "It's a nice little relaxing break."Interior designer Christopher Toth said he has a 15-year-old pitbull at home but had never fed a baby one. "I think I'm getting more joy than he is," referring to the puppy in his hand.Wooldridge and Jansen, who have two more pitbulls and three Chihuahuas at home, led the group with their expertise in caring for the puppies, five females and two males. They have at least two friends or family members who plan to adopt the dogs and are looking for other homes.Howard said the puppies may be at Sklar for four to eight weeks. She isn't concerned about disruption to the store's operation. Designers work on commission so they don't leave the floor if there's a customer. As for Jansen and Wooldridge, "they're both have such great values. They would never take advantage of me," she said. The puppies "have brought so much happiness," Howard said.
