Darlington Rehoming Centre first opened in May 1994, and since that time we have rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 18,000 dogs. A big thank you to all those who have rehomed a dog and who have helped in any capacity with our work. Canned, ground food is used at the shelter to give meds, and to start puppies and kittens on solid food after weaning from their moms. The shelter is out of canned food. It is important for the type of canned food to be "ground" for dogs and "pate" for cats as the foods with pieces and gravy will not hold the pills and tablets the pets need.
