I have never had a problem with either one of my Poodles, Standard or Miniature, trying to dominate my children. From my knowledge, I'd say this would be a good choice for you. Although you will have to be ready for the health problems that do come along with them, there aren't as many as with a St. Bernard because of the mix with the Standard, but it is still something to consider and research.
