Winter Tires For Lexus Is250

The RS3-A™ is the latest Ultra High Performance all-season tire within the Cooper performance family. This all-season performance tire provides the driver with a dynamic handling and inspires confidence and control. Advanced Technology Mold Profile. Provides for a square tread footprint which means more tread-to-road contact. Allows for tread pattern tuning. This design allows for cross-rotation which reduces heal-toe wear, promotes even wear, less noise and increased overall read life. More rubber on the outboard tread pattern equals exceptional dry handling and traction. The large outside shoulder and intermediate tread elements increase handling, stability control and ultimate cornering ability. The offset shoulder-to-intermediate grooves and large intermediate tread elements are joined together for stable cornering and noise reduction. Laterally oriented shoulder grooves, uniform element geometry and chamfered edges resist irregular or rapid tread wear. The continuous, solid rib on the outside of the center row of tread elements increases steering response.
The inboard tread pattern is optimized for wet and light snow conditions. Two, wide circumferential grooves channel water away from the tire for hydroplane resistance. Even wear is achieved by the laterally oriented shoulder grooves and uniform elements. Winter traction performance is aided by the technical sweeping elliptical groove. Increases tread element stability, improves handling and tire control while reducing the possibility of stone retention. 3-D dimple sipes with interlocking geometry provide more sipe depth without sacrificing tread element stability. The 3-D dimple sipes are used in the center, intermediate and shoulder elements and provide increased length and more road biting edges as the pattern wears for maximum wet and light snow traction. Silica Formulated Tread Compound. Designed for exceptional all-season driving performance. This is my second set of these tires. The first set last me almost 50,000 miles and still had tread left but I decided to replace them.
Incredible handling in wet weather conditions in Florida. Have also driven on these in the mountains during the winter time. made this review on 7/23/2016 and is a8 9 10  »2015 Lexus IS 350 F Sport Class: Premium Compact Car Dates tested: 1/05/2015 – 1/19/2015 Real-world fuel economy: 18.4 mpg* Driving mix: 50% city, 50% highway EPA-estimated fuel economy: 19/28/22 (city, highway, combined) Base price: $40,065 (not including $925 destination charge) Options on test car: Blind-spot monitor ($600), F Sport Package ($3740), variable-ratio steering ($400), navigation system with premium audio ($2995), trunk mat ($105) *Includes extended periods of snow/foul-weather driving The great: Plenty of power and slick, responsive transmission The good: Firm supportive seats, impressive handling The not so good: F Sport summer tires limit foul-weather handling Everybody talks about the weather, begins an old saying, but nobody does anything about it.
That was pretty much the feeling this driver had with the keys to a 2015 Lexus IS 350 F Sport in hand, and winter—real winter—deciding to pay its first call of the new year. I’d like to be able to describe how the 306-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine performed with lusty stabs at the throttle or how the steering and handling changed when “Sport” mode was activated in the Drive Mode Select system but no can do. Black Maltipoo Puppies For Sale In GeorgiaA combination of rear-wheel drive, optional summer tires, a couple of inches of snow, and several really c-c-cold days ruled that out. Test Drive: Lexus RC 350 F Sport At least that happened. With “Snow” mode selected and a lighter-than-lead foot applied to the accelerator most of the time over 3 days, yours truly managed to cheat the elements. (Note to Lexus engineers: The traction-control warning light works great. For the sake of reference, on day 3, when the local surface streets appeared to be mostly clear of all hints of slop, I switched off Snow mode and stayed in “Normal” drive. Perhaps the fact that it was a couple of degrees below zero at the time had something to do with it, but nearly every standing start along the route between home and the expressway, cautious as it might have been, was accompanied by enough slip to trigger the traction control. Lighter-than-usual traffic volume on the expressways during my turn in the car actually allowed for some good stretches of open cruising, for which the IS 350’s dohc V6 had plenty of power. Rear-drive 350s come with a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission (all other IS sedans have 6 speeds), and this powerteam delivered 18.41 mpg after a trip of 160.2 miles, 51 percent of which came under what could be termed city conditions.
That’s not great even for a car with modest EPA estimates of 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway/22 mpg combined, but the frequent fights for grip certainly didn’t do it any favors in the fuel-economy department. 1985 190E vs. 2015 CLA 250: How Lexus Leavened Mercedes Prices Cold, hard cash in the amount of $40,065 is what it takes to secure a 2015 IS 350 rear-drive sedan, but ours was optioned up to $48,830 with delivery. The extras included the F Sport package, a $3740 group that includes a distinct grille and front-bumper design, LED headlamps, staggered-width summer tires, split 5-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, a thin-film-transistor (TFT) instrument cluster, heated and ventilated front sport seats, perforated-leather steering-wheel and shift-lever coverings, aluminum pedals, and an adaptive suspension. Other less-costly add-ons consisted of a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert; and a navigation/stereo-upgrade package that also features a back-up camera, the mouselike console-mounted Remote Touch Interface (RTI) controller, voice control, and an infotainment-system app suite.
All this augmented standard touches like dual chrome exhaust outlets, power moonroof, Enform emergency-notification system, and Bluetooth connectivity. In terms of interior appointments and ergonomics, the ’15 IS 350 F Sport isn’t much different from the all-wheel-drive IS 250 F Sport that CG tried out last spring. Perhaps the Lexus IS 350 F Sport is a tiger on the highway, but it’s no lion in winter. It wouldn’t be the first car to have that problem. Say, did I ever tell you young ’uns the story of the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 and the winter of ’97? It all started one snowy Friday in January. . . My brief stint in the IS F Sport came after John’s snow-plagued turn. On dry pavement the IS is a delight to drive, with plenty of useful power, quick handling, and a sporty yet sophisticated exhaust note that comes alive when the car is driven vigorously. Snow Belters intent on checking the F Sport box on the option list will want to consider also purchasing a set of winter tires for their rides, a fairly common thing to do around these parts.
