We house & care for approximately 40 dogs at any given time. Our dogs arrive in our care in many ways; owner surrenders, strays & we pull from local high-intake shelters.We have an equal balance of dogs that need medical care, behavioral rehabilitation & some dogs that are just ready to get into that new home today. All of our dogs leave our care spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & heartworm tested (if positive, we treat them). We were developed based on the fact that there is a gap in the system here locally. The shelters that are open-intake, although they are doing the best they can, they can only do so much. Those shelters are also very stressful to the dogs & this is where we step in. You can consider our place a half-way home for dogs if you will.

We allow the dogs to be dogs again, offering them behavioral modification, land to run on, playgroups & necessary vet care. With this being said, our adoption rate is sometimes slowed due to the fact the dog(s) may not be ready for adoption right away. We set our dogs up for success & match them with the right family. Our final goal is to have the adoptions last the dog's lifetime.Our #1 goal though is to have a dog stay in their current home, should it be safe. We offer counseling & resources to do our best to make this happen. When it's not possible, they may safely surrender the dog to us, provided we have space. under the Applications tab. Each potential adopter is required to fill out. After the Adoption Application is reviewed, and requirements are verified, Dogs by Debin will contact adopter, and if eligible, appointment will be made to come in and meet our dogs. We try and list our adoption fees when posting our dogs. All of our adoption fees include: Age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, tested for heart worm (if positive, we treat them), and a free training session with our local trainer.

Craig Hutchinson, a longtime member of the department. 

The shooting took place in Round Rock, about 15 miles north of Austin."This guy was a big teddy bear, and everybody loved him," Sheriff Greg Hamilton said. "I think he was about 6’4”, he weighed about 275, but he was a gentle bear, and he taught me everything I know. He was my field training officer, and I loved that guy to death.”Round Rock police are taking lead on the investigation, and there is still an active search for the suspect.It did not appear the sergeant was targeted, Hamilton said. There had been several recent burglaries in the neighborhood, and Hutchinson's attack may have been consistent with those crimes."In the backyard, I was told there was equipment that was taken out of the shed," Hamilton said. "I'm guessing our officer came up on them and found that, seeing individuals in the shed. I think that's when the confrontation occurred."Hutchinson used his law enforcement radio at around 1:30 a.m. central time to request assistance from the Round Rock Police Department, according to a release from the Travis County Sheriff's Office.His body was found near a creek behind his backyard.
